SEPT. 23, 2020 UPDATE
To the Dartmouth community,
As fall term progresses, Dartmouth will be shifting into some new routines. Beginning Monday, Sept. 28, COVID-19 testing for students and employees will be moved to a single location at Leverone Field House. The field house will have two clearly marked entrances, one for employees and one for all students (undergraduate and graduate/professional). Our testing partner, Axiom Medical, will staff the new testing site, eliminating the need for volunteers. Testing will be performed using self-administered nasal swabs. Testing staff will observe the tests to be certain they are done accurately. To avoid long lines for testing, students and employees will receive an email asking them to register for specific testing appointments.
All employees who need to be on campus to perform their work will be tested. Those who regularly report to work on-site, and those who have a high level of interaction with students and staff while on-site, will be tested weekly. Others will be tested less frequently. Employees will be contacted to schedule their testing. We will offer weekly testing at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center one day per week in a dedicated space for employees and students on that campus.
All students living on campus and in the Upper Valley will be tested weekly. In addition to regular testing, all students, faculty, and staff approved for on-campus access must continue to complete the daily Temperature and Self-Assessment (TSA) health screening. This involves taking your temperature and answering questions through the TSA website. Dartmouth has installed non-contact, infrared thermometers in 32 locations on campus for those who do not have a thermometer at home.
The cost of COVID-19 testing for students and employees is fully covered by Dartmouth.
In addition to testing, flu-shot clinics will be offered on a limited basis for students and employees. You can also obtain a free flu vaccine at many local sites, including your local primary care provider, DHMC, or pharmacies at Dick's House, CVS, or Walgreens.
Please remember that all gatherings of more than nine people are not permitted at this time. This includes student-organized events both on and off campus. Together, we can create a successful and healthy year for everyone at Dartmouth. Thank you for doing your part to protect yourself and our community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Lisa Adams
