Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Whether you’ve arrived, returned, or stayed in the area: welcome to fall! As we get into respiratory-virus season, I’d like to share our COVID-19-related health and wellness resources.
On-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics. We expect to host on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics by mid-October this term once our vaccine provider has the reformulated COVID-19 vaccine available and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updates its COVID-19 vaccine guidance. We will post the dates of the clinics in Vox Daily and on the Dartmouth Together website when we have more information. Flu vaccines will be available on campus and also at on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
If you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19, please follow CDC guidance.
If you feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms, test immediately and wear a mask until you feel better.
If you test positive for COVID-19, isolate for at least five days and wear a mask for at least 10 days. Wear a mask for longer if you continue to test positive or have new or worsening symptoms. Notify your close contacts.
If you were exposed to COVID-19, wear a mask for at least 10 days and test on or after Day 6. Test sooner if you develop symptoms.
If you test positive for COVID-19, be sure to keep your health care provider updated. Students who test positive should contact the Dartmouth College Health Service. People without an established health care provider can find care through local resources.
Free COVID-19 antigen tests and face masks are available. Take-home antigen tests and face masks are available at a number of locations on campus. See information on tests and masks.
Get help with questions about long COVID. The effects of having COVID-19 are broad and varied and can include being sick with an active case of COVID-19 as well as experiencing chronic symptoms that persist after being infected. See coping with COVID-19 and long COVID for resources and support.
Please send your questions about COVID-19 guidance and resources to covid-19.info@dartmouth.edu, and someone from the cross-campus COVID-19 management group will get back to you. I look forward to seeing you around campus.
Sincerely,
Dave
